This post is in update to my last posting in regards to the GO bus route 94 that runs from Oshawa GO station to York Mills and Yorkdale Bus Terminals. A person by the name of Emily-Marie McKiernan has left me this particular petition telling Metrolinx to stop cutting the GO bus route 94 service. The main reason of that: Durham Region Transit’s DRT Pulse bus rapid transit service will be taking over parts of the route 94 GO bus route. In addition, the latter (which is GO bus route 94) will be replaced by Route 92 which similarly mirrors the route 95 GO bus service currently operating right now.
I’ve managed to read the petition about Emily-Marie’s story about her story about being “bullied” by fellow passengers when she used the DRT buses in the past – in regards to the “priority seating” inside DRT’s buses. In case you didn’t know, she has a disability (like I do). Many of the passengers called her random names and negative put downs and as a result of that, she stopepd using Durham Region Transit buses and now focus on GO buses.
She often asked the GO bus drivers each time she boarded the route 94 some special requests – telling other passengers not to sit with her – just because she had a disability.
As a result, she send me this particular petition in which you people urge to sign. The link to the petition can be founded here.
To finish off this blog, I’m leaving you with a music video – by two of my favourite bands, Faber Drive and We Are The In Crowd. The first music video is “Second Chance” by Faber Drive. The reason that I selected “Second Chance” by Faber Drive is that we must let all of the riders who are accustomed to the route 94 GO bus route – give them a second chance, until GO evaluates it options. With the “One Fare Anywhere” agreement slated to end soon, that is likely to hinder the efforts.
The second video I chosen is “Both sides of the story” by We Are The In Crowd. This video has a “link” to this posting. The supporters of the petition must work with Metrolinx and Durham Region Transit both have many sides of the story when it comes to the sudden, upcoming demise of the GO bus route 94. We’ll have to wait and see. Enjoy the music videos.
